COMTRAFO Transformers

Dry Transformer

Dry transformers encapsulated in epoxy resin under vacuum. They are intended for industrial and commercial distribution and lighting systems, powering panels, electric motors, insulating electrical circuits and linear and non-linear load systems, including wind generation, photovoltaic and energy storage systems in accordance with ABNT NBR, IEC and ANSI / IEEE standards and other specific standards of all utilities and/or customers.

Advantages: Cost optimization in civil works as no need for oil containment basins or fire walls, smaller area for installation, low maintenance, no risk of fire or explosion, simple installation of forced ventilation.

Powers ranges from 300 kVA to 50,000 kVA

  • HV: Class 1.2 kV, 7.2 kV, 15 kV, 25 kV, 36 kV, 52 kV

  • LV: Class 1.2 kV, 7.2 kV, 15 kV, 25 kV and 36 kV

  • Installation: Sheltered Cabins or Substations / Normal or Aggressive Environments / Indoor or Outdoor (IP≥ 5X)

  • Protection Degree: IP-00, IP-2X, IP-3X, IP-4X, IP-5X or IP-6X.

Main characteristics:

  • HV and LV coils made of aluminium or copper, minimizing the transformer's mechanical stress when subjected to overload or short-circuit situations.

  • Coils encapsulated in epoxy resin under high vacuum, eliminating  micro-air bubbles in the insulation.

  • Micro-air bubbles are induce capacitive effect in the insulation, resulting in  partial electrical discharges and compromising the transformer's operation and lifespan.

  • Encapsulation in epoxy resin under high vacuum ensures the absence of partial discharges.

  • Core made from grain-oriented silicon steel sheets, with a 45 degree step-lap cut, thus ensuring lower losses due to parasite currents and low noise levels.

  • Final assembly in a controlled environment.

  • Comprehensive final testing is conducted, accompained by the issurance of corresponding reports.

  • Encapsulated in epoxy resin under vacuum,rated for class F (155º C) or H (180º C).
